C\u2019est une usure irr\u00e9versible du cartilage de l\u2019articulation entre le premier m\u00e9tatarsien et le gros orteil. Cela provoque une inflammation chronique de l\u2019articulation. Cette maladie de manifeste par une raideur articulaire puis par des crises douloureuses de plus en plus intenses et fr\u00e9quentes. Un \u00ab bec osseux \u00bb peut \u00e9galement se former au-dessus de l\u2019articulation.
